SCRIPTURE:
Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
(Philippians 2:5)
DEVOTIONAL:
In Philippians, chapter two, the twin principles of humility and exaltation are demonstrated in the life of Jesus Christ. Though Jesus was equal to God, He set aside His divinity and lived as a man among sinful humanity on the earth. He came to serve and not to be served. Jesus did not sin, but rather humbled Himself and became obedient even to the point of death on the cross. As a result, the Father highly exalted Jesus and gave Him the Name that is above every other name. All creation on earth will honor Jesus as His kingdom and kingship are revealed in the day of His return.
Until then, God has a plan and a purpose for you to fulfill. He has called all believers to walk in love with Jesus as our example, showing mercy and looking out not only for our own interests, but also for the interests of others. As you walk in humility, God will exalt you—He will give you favor and open doors before you.
You have the mind of Christ and nothing can stop you in your assignment—whether you are laying hands on the sick and seeing them recover or overseeing a multi-million-dollar corporate merger. God desires to do great things through you as you become obedient to His will for your life.
PRAYER:
Father God, I praise You for giving me the same mind that was in Your Son, Christ Jesus. This mind is also in me! Teach me to be like Jesus, becoming obedient to Your will. I receive Your assignment and walk in humility and faithfulness knowing that You will exalt me in due time. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
