SCRIPTURE:
Let the sea roar, and all the things that fill it; Let the field rejoice, and all that is in it.
(1 Chronicles 16:32 AMP)
DEVOTIONAL:
I learned a lesson from five veggies that I didn’t like as a child: peas, carrots, Brussel sprouts, asparagus and okra. The lesson is this: For the things in life that are good for me that my flesh resists, I must cultivate a taste if I am to receive any benefit from them. It’s this way with spiritual things, too.
There is power in love, and there are things you can do to cultivate your love for God. One significant thing is praise. As you give yourself to praising God with a thankful heart, your love for Him will grow. As your love for your Creator grows, the overflow of your heart will produce more genuine and heartfelt praise. This same overflow of love will pour out into other people’s lives, too, feeding and refreshing them.
Our scripture today shows that even the seas, the fields and all of God’s creation yearn to praise the One who made them and to shout for joy over all the wonderful things God has done! Isn’t it time we do the same?
PRAYER:
Lord, I praise You for all that You have done in my life. I exalt Your holy Name, giving honor and thanksgiving to You. You are my Creator, my Savior, my Lord, my Healer, and my Provider. You are the One who loves me, and Your mercy endures forever. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
