SCRIPTURE:
I can do all things [which He has called me to do] through Him who strengthens and empowers me [to fulfill His purpose—I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency; I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him who infuses me with inner strength and confident peace.]
(Philippians 4:13 AMP)
DEVOTIONAL:
The apostle Paul went through shipwreck, beatings almost unto death, imprisonment and other terrible trials in his ministry for our Lord Jesus. He could have been depressed, defeated and ready to give up. Most of us cannot relate to the extreme hardships Paul experienced, but do you sometimes feel like you are in a battle—in your health, family, finances or some other stressful situation in your life—and it’s never going to get any better?
Receive strength from the encouraging message in today’s scripture. Apostle Paul recognized his own lack of strength and natural ability to overcome the adversities that threatened to consume him. But, Paul’s positive mindset and faith-filled words echoed in the face of affliction and brought comfort, peace and the steadfast resolve to keep on going—to fulfill the assignment Jesus had given him.
Friend, no matter what tragedies or troubles may have tried to make you quit or reject your faith—don’t! Strength, peace and the anointing of the Holy Spirit await your faith command. Confess this scripture again and again until “bulldog” faith rises up in your heart and, like the apostle Paul, you are ready for anything!
PRAYER:
Dear God, thank you for new strength and confident peace filling my heart today as I call on the sufficiency of the greater One, who lives inside of me—Christ—the anointed One and His anointing. In Him, I can meet every challenge in my life and come out victorious! In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
