SCRIPTURE:
But the men that went up with him said, We be not able to go up against the people; for they are stronger than we. And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.
(Numbers 13:31, 33)
DEVOTIONAL:
Remember the Israelites who came out of Egypt through the Red Sea and into the wilderness? Did that generation make it into Canaan? No, because they didn’t believe. In Numbers, chapter 13, Moses sent twelve men to spy out the land, but when they came back the Bible says ten of them gave an “evil report.” They reported (preached) something God did not say. Only two of them said, “…Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it” (verse 30).
God wants the wealth of the wicked to come into your hands. He wants you blessed so that you can be a blessing. God has big things for you. You may be unaccustomed to this kind of favor working in your life; but God says, you and I are going to enjoy the Promised Land. The Israelites listened to the ten who spoke an evil report and they died in the wilderness. They did not listen to the two spies who spoke prosperity. As a matter of fact, they wanted to kill them.
Your self-image has a lot to do with what God can do for you and where you can go in your life. God has good things for you! You don’t want to find yourself in the same place as the group that was denied entrance into the Promised Land. God said to them, “Okay, if you won’t go, you are going to die right here.” You may praise the Lord and speak in tongues, but unless you listen to and speak the Word of God, you can’t receive the good things that the favor of God provides for you.
PRAYER:
Dear God, It is my prayer that my self-image agrees with Your Word. Like the two spies that believed what You said, I speak right now that I have the favor of God operating in my life. I will not believe or speak an evil report like the ten unbelieving spies did. I receive the favor of God to heal, restore, protect and provide everything that is necessary to enter into the Promised Land You have destined for me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
