SCRIPTURE:
Every place upon which the sole of your foot shall tread, that have I given to you, as I promised Moses…Only be strong and very courageous; be careful to do [everything] in accordance with the entire law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, so that you may prosper and be successful wherever you go.
(Joshua 1:3, 7 AMP)
DEVOTIONAL:
After the death of Moses, his assistant Joshua was anointed by the Lord to become the leader of the Israelites. Moses had led God’s people for forty years in the wilderness, but now it was time to cross over into Canaan, their promised land. Because of his faith and “good report” years earlier when they first spied out the land they would come to occupy, Joshua was assigned the important task of taking the Israelites safely to their destination—and destiny. God promised to give them victory over their enemies and bless them in the land.
What is your promised land? Maybe it is an actual geographical destination or assignment you have been called to by God. Maybe it is that beautiful house on the hill you want to purchase. Or, perhaps it is another promise you’ve received from God—a new job, a life mate, or recovery from a devastating sickness or failure.
Whatever it is, God can guide you safely to your destination—and His destiny for your life—as you carefully obey His instructions. God has called you to be strong and courageous, knowing that He will be with you and never leave or forsake you. All of His promises are “yes and amen,” so you can be confident that He will bring what you are believing for to pass.
PRAYER:
Lord, help me to carefully obey what You tell me to do and keep me on Your path for my life and faithful to your divine assignment. Thank you for Your abundant blessings…I believe that Your promises will come to pass in my life. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
